Exposure — Light Meter
A pocket light meter that helps film photographers choose shutter speed and aperture settings.
01 / Exposure
A simple companion for film photography
Exposure turns a phone into a light meter for a film camera. Set the ISO of the film you loaded, point the camera at your subject, and read matching shutter speed and aperture pairs. Slide through the combinations to choose the balance that suits the shot.
The app also shows exposure value, supports exposure compensation, and lets you pause a reading. It works offline, with no sign-up or subscription.
When it comes in handy
It’s useful when a camera has no built-in meter, or when its meter no longer gives reliable readings. Because measurements come from the phone camera, I recommend checking it against a reference meter before an important shoot and using exposure compensation when needed.
